2007 AEF Conference

AefbrouchuregreenWe're only about 6 weeks away from the second annual Ancient Evangelical Future Conference -- November 30th through December 1st at Northern Seminary in Lombard, IL.

One of this year's keynote speakers will be Scot McNight -- the Karl A. Olsson Professor in Religious Studies at North Park University (Chicago, Illinois). He is the author of more than twenty books, including the award-winning The Jesus Creed: Loving God, Loving Others (Paraclete, 2004).  Scot has taken a great interest in the Emerging church movement, becoming a proponent of it himself. He posts daily on his blog, JesusCreed.org, especially on Emerging church issues.

Edith Humphrey -- the William F. Orr professor of New Testament at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, will also be a keynote speaker this year.  A fairly prolific writer as well as an active church person, Edith is well- known as a popular speaker at church and Seminary events. She is a member of the Anglican Communion Institute, and serves on Pittsburgh Diocese’s Commission on Ministry. Her most recent book is, Ecstasy and Intimacy: When the Holy Spirit Meets the Human Spirit.

The focus of this year's conference will be the primacy of the biblical narrative. This coincides with part one of The Call to an Ancient Evangelical Future.

Although I'll be blogging from the conference again this year, I'd love to see as many of you there as possible.  Be sure to let me know if you plan on attending!

Seraphim,

Hotel rates for the conference are pretty affordable -- especially if you have a car. Here's an example:

Ramada Inn (8.05 miles, 15min.)
780 E. North Ave.,
Glendale Hts., IL 60139

630-942-9500
Ask for NBTS rate $50 + tax
Includes hot breakfast, hi speed internet, USA paper, shuttle (10 people),indoor pool.

And for just a few bucks more, here's one that's virtually walking distance from the conference:

Comfort Inn (1.42 miles, 5 min.)
3010 Finley Road
Downers Grove, Illinois 60515

630/515-1500 or 1-800/221-2222

I'm also pretty sure that if you use Priceline.com or Hotels.com, or Travelocity, you'll be able to find very affordable rates in the city of Downers Grove (where Northern Seminary is located).

Man - DO THIS! I'd absolutely LOVE to hang with you at this thing.
