Hans Horst Dose, 1927-2007
October 17, 2007
My father-in-law passed away early last evening. He was 80 years old. Hans first came to the U.S. as a young adult in order to attend California Polytechnic University (Cal Poly) in Pomona, where he graduated with a degree in civil engineering. Fortunately for me, he married and decided to raise his family here rather than returning home to Germany, and in time -- I ended up marrying one of daughters (Ingrid).
THANK YOU to all of you who have prayed for my wife and her siblings while they have struggled through the past two weeks of their dad being on life-support. During his final hours, the hand of the Lord was clearly present.
Your continued prayers for his children and grandchildren would be a welcomed blessing.
Death reaps the Beauty of the World. Eternal Memory.
Christ our eternal King and God, You have destroyed death and the devil by Your Cross and have restored man to life by Your Resurrection; give rest, Lord, to the soul of Your servant Hans who has fallen asleep, in Your Kingdom, where there is no pain, sorrow or suffering.
In Your goodness and love for all men, pardon all the sins he has committed in thought word or deed, for there is no man or woman who lives and sins not, You only are without sin.
For You are the Resurrection, the Life, and Repose of Your servant Hans, departed this life, O Christ our God; and to You do we send up glory with Your Eternal Father and Your All-holy, Good and Life-creating Spirit; both now and forever and to the ages of ages. in Jesus Name.
Amen

Chris,
Sorry for your family's loss. May God lift all of you up and comfort you with the comfort that only he can give. May your memories be sweet, and the time you spend waiting to see your loved one again seem like an instant.
